If you are interested in counselling, we can have a discussion over email or phone about what you would like support with, and which form of counselling is most suitable. These are outlined below.
If you decide to book an initial "getting to know you" session, you will be sent a link to my online calendar where you can book in. Following this, you will be sent the contract to sign and information about how to pay.
At the initial session, we will explore in more depth what you need from counselling and whether we are compatible.
Online and Phone Counselling
Remote counselling is a convenient option for modern life. If you choose to have your sessions online via a video call, this will be on Zoom. This platform is secure, reliable and easy to use. Another option is telephone counselling. I am trained to deliver counselling online and by phone, and am experienced in both.
Creative Counselling
If you want to discover and express who you truly are, art can be a powerful way to do this. Through creative methods, you can access deep emotions which are difficult to put into words. You do not need to be artistic or have any experience of art at all. You will not receive any judgement and I will not interpret your work.
Creative counselling sessions take place over Zoom, and involve using art materials, images, symbols and objects to explore issues. I usually suggest a few talking sessions first, so we can get to know each other and build trust. Then we can introduce creative methods if it feels this would be helpful. Clients who have chosen walk & talk therapy may be offered creative methods of working outdoors, such as using photography, if this feels appropriate.
Walk & Talk
Being in nature can be a great way of connecting with yourself. This type of counselling allows you to experience the freedom of being outdoors, whilst being held within a nurturing space. Physical movement, mindfulness and engaging the senses can all bring shifts in perspectives, creativity and a deeper intuition.
I offer walk & talk sessions in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding area. If you choose this option, we will begin with an online session to assess the suitability of this type of therapy and discuss the practicalities and boundaries. Here I will explain more about how this type of therapy works, and you will be given a choice of walking locations, each with routes that are appropriate for walk & talk. We will meet regularly at your chosen location for an hour long walk.
